Doug & Adrienne came to Paris from Belgium for their engagement session. They are from the Philadelphia area, but Doug’s job took him to Belgium for a few years, so it was just a short drive for them to meet us.

We had the most fantastic time exploring Paris with them! Adrienne, being the smart girl that she is, thought ahead and brought along a pair of flats – which considering she was wearing these awesome heels, was a GOOD idea! Paul got the most amazing shot of the shoes…

We started at the Trocadero to get a good vantage point overlooking the Eiffel Tower. There were tons of people around, since it was a holiday weekend here in France, but we managed to find ways to make it look like Doug & Adrienne were off in their own world… (We are still editing their images, so we’ll post some of those in Part II tomorrow).

After a long walk from Eiffel and on the way to the Arc de Triomphe & the Lourve we stopped for a glass of champagne (and to rest our feet) at a beautiful little café. I just can’t get enough of these little sidewalk tables! As we were talking I noticed a Mini (one of the original ones!) has pulled into the space next to our table. I thought that everything about the scene just looked timeless, so I ventured out into the street to grab this shot (Paul was kind enough to keep a look out to make sure I didn’t get run over!).

One the way to the Lourve, we stopped at one of small gardens you find everywhere in Paris…

… and then found this beautiful natural light at the Lourve…

After we wrapped up at the museum, we decided we all deserved a nice dinner, so we tracked down a restaurant Adrienne had tried with her sister and had the most delicious Cremé Brulee ever! (And oh yes, the dinner part was good too!)

We said goodbye as we tried to find our way to the correct Metro stations, and I just had this nagging feeling that we were missing something in terms of the shoot. As we walked through the Lourve at night to get to the Metro, I just knew we had to get some images with Adrienne & Doug at night. I called them up and they were definitely interested! They were able to change trains and meet us at the Eiffel Tower – and thank god they did – I would have been heartbroken had we not taken these images…
