If you haven’t heard, its engagement season!  The holidays and the New Year bring out everyone’s romantic side, so questions are popped and happy couples start to celebrate!  We wish all of you newly engaged couples a very happy and healthy 2012 (and happy planning!).

Jamie & Alex have one of those great stories, the kind of story that makes you sigh…

Jamie was caught in the rain without an umbrella, Alex, being the gentleman that he is, offered his.  They chatted on a corner in Hoboken for a short time, and when she had to leave Alex offered to let her take the umbrella…  She declined, and that was it. She was gone.  Alex admitted later, he wanted to ask her out, but he didn’t want her to think that the only reason he offered his umbrella (how sweet!).

The very next night they were out with their respective groups of friends and it just so happened they ended up at the same place.  And they’ve been together ever since.

Fate!  I just love fate!

We just had to bring out the umbrella (good thing we keep them in the car at all times!)

It was a freezing day, but Alex & Jamie made the best of it and cuddled up to keep warm – so worth it!  This park/pier overlooking the New York City skyline was amazing.

My new favorite place is Lackawanna Train Station – wow.  Paul and I have shot in Hoboken many, many times, but we somehow never made it here.  It is now a required location if we are photographing anyone within a 25 mile radius (ok, a slight exaggeration, but worth a try).

Very fun couple – and so cute!

And another….

And another! My husband knows good light when he sees it!  That is what I love about shooting with him, we can both be shooting the same couple, and get two completely different results.

Jamie and Alex also came to us as a referral from another wonderful couple of ours, Rebecca and Kevin (you might remember their wedding at the gorgeous Mallard Island Yacht Club).  We can’t wait for Alex & Jamie’s big day!

With love,
Laura & Paul
